It’s important that we all carve our own niche in this place. Explore what makes each one of us unique for that distinctiveness is what…
Dear Michelle;
You need to run.
Let’s be real, you are the saving grace that this country desperately needs. Party aside, policy notwithstanding, this country has been led astray by immorality, unrighteousness and an acceptance of selfishness. We need to bounce back with decency at the forefront, impeccably, so we can move forward in reshaping this nation’s future.
You need to run.
The future is coming, and on this current track, racism is gaining momentum as well as religious intolerance, misogyny and social injustice. The crossroad is November 3rd, 2020 when this nation must make a choice: the continued capitalistic directive that has been established since the founding of this nation or a more devoted stance towards solidarity where ideals, not just of White males, can wholeheartedly prevail.
You need to run.
I get it; I, and many others, understand the nastiness of politics and you saw it firsthand for more than 10 years and counting. The already crowded Democratic field, the debates, the fund raising, the time spent with people who are not very smart, we get it, you’re done. Out. You can’t imagine or even think about the commitment needed for such a monumental task. Your girls, your husband, your friends and family…you’ve settled in nicely away from the political spotlight. But, those are the very reasons that you need to run. You’ve sacrificed tremendously to be who you are and achieve what you’ve achieved and that love you have for your girls, I know and beg, can give you just a little more strength to create a future where their true talents can mushroom never-ending.
Policy and politics aside, your grace needs to be on the world stage, not just for America but we need to re-establish the dignity that inspires greatness. That elegance which you have perfected is contagious, just you being you would instill hope and change (for the positive) and we can slide on the downside of that arc towards justice. I can bribe you with the thought that your victory would help re-establish your husband’s legacy or give you pride in being the first woman President but those aren’t the catalysts. They may be for others but you’re above that and that’s why you need to run.
You have the votes; I imagine housewives of white supremacists, even those that voted for Trump, stepping into the voting booth, having just listened to Chaka Khan’s, “I’m Every Woman,” shrugging off their husband’s demands of continued dominance, empowered by a woman that gives them courage. I imagine Black people flocking to the polls, just like they did for your husband but now with more vigor, vigor inspired by the increased racial hatred they’ve endured since his predecessor. You’re that hope, that dream, that wish come true, exhaling into a future destined through the demographic change that’s reshaping America. Congress got it, now the Presidency needs to follow suit.
The fight is on and we’re in crisis mode (an understatement), precariously tethering on that thin line between love and hate. For 527 years one side has prevailed, excelling into a super power that has engulfed the world, gorging on finances and riches, fat catting it’s way to global dominance, [in America’s Best Interest] and now, as the world has changed, so need we.
When your husband’s final term was over, I welcomed your retirement, ‘let them relax in peace,’ I wanted but it’s evident, we still have a ways to go. We’re not out of the woods but that shining light out of the darkness is you.
You NEED to run.
